What happened to the Cubs? How is it possible that we rank #26 in runs scored, when it was only last year that we were leading the league? I need answers!
First off, I miss DeRo. Having him in our lineup could surely help our team out now that we've been struggling offensively. But the fact of the matter is that he is with the Indians now and we need to concentrate on what we have now to win games. And what we have, is Milton Bradley. God, what a horrible downgrade that was. I mean, come on. If this guy can't get the job done then he needs to be benched and let others who are hitting consistently get a shot. It just boils my blood to think that Bradley was signed because they wanted "left handed hitters." I think Hendry just got greedy and made a stupid mistake in Bradley. He's a magnet for injuries, not to mention his latest defense mishaps (ie-dropping the ball, throwing the ball away after 2 strikes!)To think that we were the team to beat last year and we did it all without lefties. Bradley needs to go, good riddance.
I'd like to see more of Reed Johnson and Micah Hoffpauir. What I love about those two is that they put everything they've got into the game, and you see that. Even if they strike out, you know they did their best. I think that if you do that, the hits will come.
Seriously, if it wasn't for our starting pitching, we would be dead last in the division. It seems like such a waste to have all of these quality stars go to waste when the offense can't seem to produce runs. I just can't wait for Aramis to get back in the lineup, as an RBI machine, he is much needed. It's just a good thing that we're only about 3 and a half games back from first place. I am pretty hopeful about the rest of the season. I think we have everything it takes, we just need to put it together. And just to end of a positive note, I love Randy Wells, what a guy. So happy to see he finally got his first win, which was long overdue.

I think it's pretty obvious that I have a thing for pitchers.
